Are chocolate labs born chocolate?

I will like to know if the color of a Chocolate Labrador Retriever is ovious as soon as they are born of if they look more like black Labradors.

In the litters I have personally seen it was obvious which pups were chocolate from birth. Thank you for the question, I sense there is more to this story.
