Collar recommendations?

Postby Sooty42 » Sun Jun 24, 2018 6:12 pm

I’m going to get a center ring collar that is waterproof and hopefully stink proof. Looks like gun dog supply has a good selection.

I was thinking of getting a orange/reflective one for extra safety. Any drawbacks to using reflective while hunting? I’ve always thought reflective might make birds flighty, but I have no proof of that.

Any suggestions on brand or style would be great.

Thanks

I don't no about water proof & stink proof , but a little orange helps me to see my dogs bird hunting, and you can't beat Gun dog supply customer service. Forrest

I use both blaze orange and camo collars depending on what we are hunting. Use black or orange on ecollar depending on the same. I buy from GundogSupply if they have it. Great service.

For upland these are hard to beat! If you run two dogs you can switch colors to help identify different dogs. Very bright and reflective. Last a a LONG time. You can write your phone number on it with a sharpie if your worried about losing dog. Scott reversible reflexlite bands. Easy to clean, dont collect much of anything.

For water fowl I will only use the ecollar if needed. Otherwise, no collar..

X2

I used the LCS reflective ones. We do a lot of training here in the summer and haven't noticed any birds spook with the reflective, but it could be my DD is so stealth like... lol

My dogs have never worn these ones out. Trail Blazin Innovations is an excellent company to deal with.

I like the Tuflex 1" collar that comes with the free identification plate from Gundogsupply. Comes in a multitude of colours. Great price at $12.99
