PP Chin Hairs Beginning

Postby Dmog » Thu Sep 27, 2018 8:30 am

I think I see some chin hairs starting on my 12wk old PP. What do you guys think, she gonna have some furnishings? I know it can take a while to see what type of coat will develop.

You never have to tell a dog what time to be home, give them the keys, and they never ask for money.

Looking at the fringe beginning on the ears, I'd say she ends up hairier than not. What did Mom and Dad look like? Did the breeder indicate anything? When I got my GWP he said, "He's gonna be really shaggy."

Mom and Dad both look like the classical PP "Wire Coat" with the furnishings, not slick or woolly. I was just happy to get a call from my breeder to get a pup so quick that I told Scott I didn't care if it was male, female, or what coat because he has had such good success lately with nice uniform, quality litters. Scott did ask me what I wanted in the coat and I said I have a "woolly" already(great waterfowl coated Griff that gets a little hot on upland hunts in KS plus the legs and face get some quality deburring time) that I wouldn't mind a less dense wiry coat for upland hunting with facial furnishings(of course these can get hunted off on the hard charging dogs). I think I may have just what I asked for! We shall see in time.

She looks like Abe (Jethro) to me. Probably due to his strong presence in the pedigree...that's a good thing!

Enjoy!

First scent point today at 14 weeks! Pigeon in a remote trap about 5 yards into the tall grass. She held it about 15 seconds and started to creep in before I launched it!

You know that old Vdog saying, "a dog without a beard and mustache is only half a dog." One of these days you'll have a whole dog.

Like this one! Kinda hoping to have a complete dog Burt Reynolds style vs the mop and toilet brush route again!
