Hunting Doves

I am raising a wellbred black lab that is showing a lot of promise. I have been told by some lab owners that a young lab should not be used to retrieve doves because of the amount of small feathers and or tast or ( well I've heard several reasons) what do the real lab trainers say? thanks ...... Russ

If your dog is delivering to hand, holding birds, not mouthing birds, and has been shot over, I see no reason why she could not retreive doves.
